Matt is a musician, songwriter, composer and music tutor based in Winchester.
He has 26 years of experience working in the music industry and 11 years working with young people to develop their skills and love of playing, composing and performing music.
He started playing and recording music at the tender age of 10 on his Dad's hi fi, with his good friend, Matt Hales. Shortly after he started learning how to play drums and practiced a lot, much to the dismay of his parents and neighbours.
After spending many early band years recording with bands such as White Noise and Gravel Monsters; Matt played drums and co-wrote songs with Matt Hales, Ben Hales and Stephen Cousins in the band Ruth
(" Valentines Day" "Fear Of Flying" ) and band The 45’s, ( "Something Real" ) .
Latterly Matt toured with Aqualung providing session drums on their European tour.
Co-writing//
He also co-wrote on Aqualung's debut album, the song Gentle, California on Magnetic North album & Clean on the 10 Futures album, providing additional percussion/keys and sound fx
2006-present//
More recently he played and recorded drums/piano and synths on Temples Of Youth songs which includes Enso, AM and Dunes. Currently cowriting with recent projects including: Cera (alternative/electronic pop) "Witness" , Glenn Pearson (acoustic pop) "Up in the air" Alex Steffel (electronic folk alt pop) "Don't fall asleep". Matt is also cowriting with various other songwriters such as Selina Hawker (Fake Love).
Matt is also writing for music library No Sheet Music and his composition "Agent Pinky" has recently featured on Dragon's Den.
